The line-up for Karaka's 2010 Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs has been unveiled, with the 494-strong catalogue now online at www.nzb.co.nz
The source of 10 Group 1 winners in the past four years, New Zealand Bloodstock's Ready to Run Sale has soared in success and popularity in recent years. With strike rates rivalling some of the leading yearling sales around, horses like Military Move, Vonusti and Able One were just the latest Group 1 winners last season to join an ever-growing list of top performing graduates.
With this year marking the 30th anniversary of the New Zealand event, this Sale has well and truly established a foothold as a market packed with potential for buyers looking for well-educated, young horses that are poised to hit the racetrack.
With 200 more entries than last year, the 2010 catalogue is the biggest seen at this sale since 2001, and the bumper selection has the quality to match.
A huge total of 125 sires are represented this year, providing a full spectrum of local and Australian flavour, and with the progeny of more than 30 stakeswinning racemares, including five Group 1 winners, the quality on paper is as good as ever.
Some of the highlights include:
• 10 siblings to Group 1 winners including LINKY DINK, ROCKDALE, TIME KEEPER & SIGHT WINNER
• More than 40 full or half relatives to stakeswinners
• 125 stallions including ENCOSTA DE LAGO, FASTNET ROCK, O'REILLY, and ZABEEL
• 38 Lots already eligible to be nominated for the one million dollar Karaka Million 2YO race on 30 January
Breeze ups for this Sale will take place at Te Rapa racecourse on 18 & 19 October, from 9am. Catalogues will go in the post on Monday 27 September, with Breeze Up DVDs available from 26 October.
